Hisar Preschool Education Program
Our preschool program embraces a holistic approach designed taking into account the individual development of each child. Hisar Preschool provides a high-quality educational program designed to cultivate the 21st Century skills necessary to prepare the students for the future.
Hisar School Preschool program blends the objectives of the Ministry of National Education (MEB) with the constructivist approach that allows students to shape their own perception of their own world, while endorsing the HighScope educational model. Our academic program is implemented by following the revised HighScope educational model based on scientific research and integrating projects aimed at acquiring 21st-century skills.
Since its establishment in 1996, Hisar Preschool has been dedicated to the principles of the HighScope Education Model and has adopted the HighScope Education philosophy through PreK-12.
Hisar Preschool is in the process of Accreditation with HighScope Education Foundation.
“HighScope Education Model”
The HighScope Preschool Curriculum represents a comprehensive early childhood education system that is grounded in child development theories, research, and established instructional practices. This curriculum encompasses a range of teaching methods for adults and covers curriculum content that includes significant developmental milestones in various subject areas.
Within the HighScope Preschool Curriculum, students actively construct and shape their process of making sense of the world. They engage in the planning and implementation of their interests and intentions, which aids in the development of their knowledge and skills. Learning is not merely a process of adults imparting information to children; instead, it is a collaborative endeavor in which children make discoveries through direct interactions with people, objects, events, and concepts.
HighScope educators are just as engaged and participatory as the children in this process. They conscientiously provide resources, design activities, and communicate with children in a manner that supports and advances their observations and thoughts. Activities are a combination of child-initiated, rooted in children’s natural curiosity, and tailored to their current and emerging abilities, ensuring that they are developmentally appropriate.
Skill-Based Holistic Education Program
The physical environment of our school has been designed and equipped to support active learning and creativity in children. The social environment is blended with positive discipline methods. As a result, our students develop a sense of trust consistently through a structured daily program and positive adult-child interactions. This sense of trust enables them to engage in internal explorations that trigger and transform into learning experiences.
A crucial part of the daily program is the ‘Plan-Do-Review’ structured activity that guides children’s free play, as well as small and large group times. It makes it possible for students to develop self-confidence, language skills, problem-solving abilities, time management, and a sense of responsibility.
Early Encounter with Foreign Languages
Our students receive preschool level English language education through effective learning methods and games in a natural way.
Young learners acquire a second language in a similar way to their first language. We use songs, games, stories, rhymes, hands-on activities, realia, and authentic visual materials to support their learning. We create diverse and meaningful learning experiences to give them exposure to a broad range of authentic English.
Clubs and Branch Lessons
Our students receive one lesson per week from expert teachers in Music, Visual Arts, Physical Education, and Movement Education. Additionally, throughout the year, they participate in club activities in eight different fields on a rotating basis. All of these diverse areas enrich our students’ development.
Methods of Testing & Assessment and Individual Support
The individual development of our preschool students is thoroughly assessed.. Support plans are designed for each student to move beyond their present level. The use of various assessment and evaluation methods such as individual and group observation notes, anecdotal records, skills observation checklists, portfolios, progress reports enables the application of a holistic approach and ensures that the results are personalized to provide individual support for each of our students.
Psychological Counseling and Guidance
Alongside strong guidance and counseling which serves preschool students efficiently, our Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center contributes to development substantially by maintaining a quality relationship between school and parents through different channels.
School-Parent Collaboration
Our school attaches great importance on communication with our parents. School staff and administrators aim to be open to parents’ questions, concerns, and suggestions. Any ideas or suggestions put forward by our parents are handled with attention and with the guidance of corporate principles, and feedback is provided to our parents. The teachers are primarily responsible for issues related to the education of our students. Meetings with teachers should be scheduled by appointment when necessary, and if needed, parents may contact the Vice Principal and/or School Principal.
For issues related to the school’s general services (transportation, meals, etc.), it is expected that thoughts and suggestions are not conveyed through students. It is essential that such communication is reported in writing to the respective Vice Principal for documentation purposes.
