Eco-Schools Program is a program applied to provide environmental awareness, environmental management and sustainable development education in pre-school, primary and secondary schools. It is an international environmental education program supported by the International Environmental Education Foundation (FEE) run by TÜRÇEV in our country. Within the scope of the program, there are more than 70 countries that carry out the Eco-Schools Program affiliated with FEE.
With a participatory approach, students at schools both learn about environmental issues and take an active role in raising awareness of their families, local administrations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on environmental issues. Eco-Schools Program, besides offering a guiding program to schools on environmental education; It is also an award plan as it gives the Green Flag awards to schools that have achieved outstanding success with their work and environmental education within the program. The Green Flag is an eco-label that symbolizes the internationally recognized and respected, environmentally conscious school. Hisar Secondary School students aim to work on the theme of “Recycling & Waste-Waste” in the next two academic years within the scope of the Eco-School Program, to organize activities on these themes in their schools, to raise awareness, and to raise awareness of their environment and families.
