Hisar Preschool
Social Responsibility
Sustainability
At Hisar School, students are encouraged to develop a strong environmental consciousness and a deep respect for nature. Our preschool students learn about sustainable living by experiencing fundamental sustainability practices such as waste management, responsible consumption, and recycling during mealtimes and classroom activities. Through daily applications, they reinforce this awareness and integrate it into their routines.
Waste Management and Recycling Practices
- Sorting organic and recyclable waste: Students learn waste management in an eco-friendly manner by categorizing their waste after meals.
- Supporting animal welfare: Organic waste is separated without harming nature and suitable food is provided for animals, contributing to their nourishment.
- Composting activities: Students explore natural cycles by participating in composting organic waste.
Responsible Consumption and Conservation of Natural Resources
- Reducing food waste: Students develop awareness by consuming their meals responsibly and minimizing waste.
- Energy and water conservation: Habits like turning off lights and not leaving taps running unnecessarily are reinforced.
- Eco-friendly material use: Single-use plastics are avoided in favor of recyclable or reusable materials.
Alignment with Global Goals
Our sustainability practices are directly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are integrated into our curriculum to ensure holistic learning.
Social Responsibility Projects
Our preschool students develop an understanding of giving back to the community and the importance of sharing through hands-on experiences. Through real-life connected projects, they cultivate empathy, cooperation, and social awareness.
Our Communities Project
- Students recognize different occupational groups that shape their communities and understand their societal roles.
- They prepare thank-you cards for school staff, learning to value and appreciate individuals in their surroundings.
- By observing and discussing everyday social services, they develop awareness of those who contribute to the community.
- Activities inside and outside the classroom allow children to explore the significance of being part of a community.
Educational Material Support Project
- Preschool students prepare educational materials for their peers in other schools, reinforcing the belief that learning should be accessible to all.
- Through this process, they develop sharing and collaboration skills while creating valuable learning resources.
- The same learning games selected for our classrooms are provided to schools in need, strengthening a sense of solidarity.
- By understanding that a child in another school will use the same materials they use, they internalize the value of sharing and supporting others.
- Students grasp the importance of helping within a community and equal access to education, recognizing both individual and societal benefits of giving.
Our social responsibility projects aim to nurture students as socially aware, empathetic, and generous individuals, contributing to their growth as responsible members of society.
