Learning Outcome

Assessment

The exam content consists of two stages: reading and writing. The student is expected to write a “thought essay” where the given text is interpreted according to the specified concepts.

Reading
The student will establish a connection between the text, its subject, purpose, and target audience. They will identify the main idea of the text and supporting details. The student will also analyze the narrative techniques used in the text, the ways in which the ideas are developed, and their functions. They will determine the stylistic features of the text and recognize universal and social elements within it. The student will distinguish between the information and commentary presented in the text, and evaluate the reflection of intellectual, philosophical traditions, or perspectives in the text.

Writing
The student will interpret the text, evaluate the relationship between the author and the text, and plan the text they will write. They will write in a way that adheres to the characteristics of the given text type, using the appropriate language and narrative features for that text type. The student will also pay attention to the essential aspects of good writing, including grammar, punctuation, and avoiding narrative inconsistencies.
