Our Middle School students visited the village of Boğatepe in Kars for the “Changemakers Development Project”, which they designed and started to develop with the inspiration they received from the book “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind” they read in Turkish lessons. Within the framework of cooperation with Kars MEM and under the leadership of the Turkish, the Maths, Social Sciences and Visual Arts departments held workshops for teachers in Kars.
In this project, which aims to enable our students to internalise the message in the book they read and bring it to life, to make a difference in community life, to associate it with real life, to take action at the point of “making positive contributions to the world” as stated in our school mission, and to take concrete steps forward, our students examined the life in Kars-Boğatepe village, experienced village life, and searched for application areas for their projects that they associated with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals determined by the United Nations.
