In the 11th grade Turkish Language and Literature courses, which are structured based on the concepts of East and West and are taught within this framework throughout the year, we bring our students together with expert researchers and writers by comparing them with various articles and texts. Thus, we expect them to internalize the process leading to modernism. In this process, Levent Yılmaz, author of “History of Modern Times”, “Africa” and “The Last Country”, came together with our students. Levent Yılmaz, who discussed the process leading to modernism starting from the 14th century, presented a new perspective to our students with an instructive and academic conversation.
