The first sharing of the “OkuYorum” project, implemented by our High School Turkish Language and Literature and Community Services Department to create a culture of critical thinking and discussion, was held with the theme of “migration”. Our students from the “OkuYorum” group read and commented on Shaun Tan’s “Arrival” and Francesca Sanna’s “The Journey” books, and then came together with activist and academic Ayşe Beyazova to talk about the “migration” theme. The next theme of the “OkuYorum” community, which was formed to raise awareness about social problems, will be “disability and accessibility”.
