Ahmet Cem Karadeniz, who graduated from Hisar High School with a third place in 2018, is the first Turkish student to graduate from Columbia University Engineering School at the top of his class.
Ahmet Cem gave a speech at the Columbia University graduation ceremony with the Atatürk and Hisar Schools badge on his collar. In addition to ranking first in class, Ahmet Cem received the Illig medal, the highest honor of the Engineering School presented to the top student. He also received the Principled Action King’s Crown Leadership Excellence award, presented to students who take ethical, moral and egalitarian initiatives, and the William A. Hadley award, one of the two most prestigious awards of the Mechanical engineering department. Ahmet Cem’s name was hung on the wall of the department.
The inspiring academy and career journey of our graduate, who started working at “BofA Securities” in New York, was also featured in the column of Nuran Çakmakçı in Hürriyet Newspaper.
