The “Hisarın Sessi” team, which prepares our High School’s e-journal, participated in the Yale Daily News Symposium taking place on February 27-28 with a total of 89 schools and 377 participants.
Our students listened to author interviews from prestigious newspapers such as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and NBC. In addition, they participated in the “Best High School Newspaper Competition” held within the symposium with December 2020 issue of Hisarın Sessi, which they translated into English. Our students became the only team among 89 schools participating in the competition by translating from their mother tongue.
At the end of the contest, our 12th grade student İris B. has received “Feature Article Honorary Mention” award with her article titled “A New Version of the Coronavirus!”
