Our third guest at the artist-student meetings organized by our Visual Arts Department was artist Eda Gecikmez. Eda Gecikmez explained the collage technique to our students in art practice and showed examples by touching on the points that collage evolved in the artist’s creation process. The artist also shared the conceptual framework of the spatial collage installation that took place at Ankara Galeri Nev with our students.
Who is Eda Gecikmez?
Eda Gecikmez graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Painting Department. During his undergraduate education, he studied at Valencia Polytechnic University San Carlos Fine Arts Faculty for one year. She participated in the Home Workspace Art Education Program organized by Ashkal Alwan Plastic Arts Association in Beirut, Lebanon in 2016-2017. She graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Institute of Social Sciences, Art and Design Master’s program in 2019. Since 2004, she has participated in many group exhibitions both at home and abroad, and took part in international art projects. Finally, Gecikmez, who started the Proficiency in Art Program at Hacettepe University Fine Arts Institute Painting Department, continues her studies in Istanbul and Ankara.
