We celebrated May 19, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day and the 100th year of the commencement of Turkish War of Independence with pride and joy all week. Activities regarding this important day began with student-teacher matches on May 15 at our Sports Center, continued with the concert of our school band in High School building on May 17 and ended with our ceremony with the participation of our teachers, students, parents and staff on May 19, Sunday. Our ceremony began with Turkish national anthem and continued with the announcement of the new name of our Cultural Center stage as ”Atatürk Stage” celebrating the 100th year of Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day by İpek Erduran, General Secretary of the Board of Directors and Member of the Board of Trustees. Then, as in each May 19 celebrations, students who had outstanding performance throughout the academic year received their awards. Our students Kaan Ali Ç. received ECIS Award from İpek Erduran, Kerem Ç. received Feyyaz Berker Sportsmanship award from Founder’s Representative Prof. Dr. Emre Gönensay and Emre Ç. received Harvard Book Prize from our General Manager Prof. Dr. Gülay Barbarosoğlu.
