Our physics teacher Mevlüt Aksoy attended the 8. CERN Turkish Teacher Program organized by the CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research, from 21 – 27 January 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland. In the program, 35 Turkish physics teachers chosen from different cities of Turkey participated in the lectures, hands-on workshops, and on-site visits.
The program’s lectures covered the following subjects; information on CERN, particle physics, accelerator physics, tuning physics, history of the philosophy of science, neutron physics, astroparticle physics, Higgs Boson particle, cosmology, Beamline for Schools Competition (BL4S), computational particle physics practices, standard model and beyond, current problems in particle physics, use and benefits of particle physics in the areas of medicine and industry.
