On November 30th our 7th graders left for their 4-day trip where they visited Amsterdam together with their 7 teachers. Currently, 7th grade English students are reading, “The Diary of Anne Frank,” and they were given the opportunity to enrich their understanding of this text through this trip.
Students were especially moved while visiting the Anne Frank Museum, during which they walked through the actual rooms where the Frank family lived in hiding. Additionally, they expanded their understanding of Dutch culture and World War II in the Netherlands while visiting: the Verzets Resistance museum, two typical Dutch villages, and the Westerbork Transit Camp. No doubt, each student took away many powerful experiences that they will think about for a long time to come.
