For the first time in Hisar history, our middle school is partnering with NASA to offer their Future Explorers Program (FEP) and participate in NASA Space Camp Turkey.
The FEP program is designed to develop students’ potential in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) using 21st-century teaching methods.
The FEP program is carried by our science teachers, Banu Aykın Köylüer and Nuray Kallı, with the support of our IT department. The program consists of three main stages:
1. NASA-based activities,
2. Video conferences with NASA Space Camp Turkey
3. The NASA Space Camp Turkey Future Explorers Summit
So far, our students have completed the first two stages of the FEP Program. They will attend the Summit in August 2016 where they will have the opportunity to share their work and also see what their peers from other schools have been working on. They will also have an opportunity to meet Prof. Dr. Inge Christ from the University of Norwegian Stavanger and astronaut Dorothy M. Metcalf-Lindenburger.
