We celebrated the 92nd anniversary of our Republic with much excitement in a ceremony to a full house at our Culture Center on Sep 29. Under the theme of Peace, our ceremony was full of songs and poems about peace, freedom and fraternity.
We welcomed our honorary guest, Mr. Zülfü Livaneli, one of our country’s most important musicians, authors and politicians. UN Peace Ambassador Mr Livaneli’s presence in our ceremony is very meaningful for us. He made a short speech upon peace, democracy, republic and Atatürk and sang his “Freedom” song with our students.
Republic Day celebrations week was created an opportunity to rise the interst to our campaign we were directed: “One Book for Peace”, which were created by “kardesokullar.com – Köy Öğretmenleri Yardım Platformu ” (sistershools- Village Teacher Support Platform).
We collected very wide range of books, from pre-school to eight grade, and sent to Sivas Kangal Havuz Primary School and Van Muradiye Yumaklı Primary School .
