Ceylan E.’16 received the Harvard Book Prize (http://alumni.harvard.edu/haa/clubs-sigs/programs/prize-book)
Ms. Tayyibe Gülek Domaç, HEV Trustee, at the Sep 16 high school flag ceremony. The Harvard Book Prize is presented annually in more than 1,900 high schools around the world to outstanding students in the junior class who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and achievement in nonacademic areas. The recipient has been chosen from among the students who are applying to universities abroad. This is the first year we presented the Harvard Book Prize at Hisar School.
Ahmet Arda T.’16 received the ECIS Award for International Understanding (https://www.ecis.org/ecis-grants) from Mr. Emre Gönensay, Founder’s Representative and HEV Trustee, at the Sep 7 high school opening ceremony. This award is given to one high school student for being a good representative of his/her own country, with a positive attitude toward the life and culture of others, able to converse in at least two languages, a contributing force in the life of the school, with the ability to bring differing people together into a sense of community, thus furthering the cause of international understanding.
Feyyaz Berker Sportsmanship Award: Selim Can G.’16 and Sena A.’16 received the Feyyaz Berker Sportsmanship Award from Mr. Emre Gönensay, Founder’s Representative and HEV Trustee, at the Sep 7 high school opening ceremony. This is given to an outstanding student who naturally reflects the Hisar Spirit in his/her behavior by having personal integrity and maturity, demonstrating high standards in his/her behavior, having a high sense of social responsibility, having positive school spirit, and being a good role model who cares about and protects others.
